Skyvillion: London's Olympic Gold Standard Apartment — Westfield Luxury Awaits!
Skyvillion: London's Olympic Gold Standard Apartment – Westfield Luxury…Or Just Westfield? A Messy, Honest Review
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because we're diving headfirst into Skyvillion, the "Olympic Gold Standard Apartment" promising luxury in…well, near Westfield Shopping Centre. Let's be honest, the Westfield bit is a major factor. It's the elephant in the room, the constant hum of consumerism in the background of your otherwise 'luxurious' stay. But hey, gold standard, right? Let's sort the wheat from the chaff… or, you know, the shiny chandeliers from the slightly-less-shiny reality.
First, the Basics – The Nitty Gritty:
Okay, so Accessibility is a big one for me. I'm not personally using a wheelchair, but I always appreciate good accessibility for those who do. Skyvillion ticks some boxes, but let's be brutally honest: Facilities for disabled guests are listed, so I'm assuming they've got some ramps and such. But I'm guessing, you know? I can't personally vouch for a truly comprehensive experience because, well, it wasn't my experience. If accessibility is crucial for you, definitely contact them directly and get the specifics. Don’t assume. And, Elevator is a big plus, though thank god.
Getting Connected – The Digital Life:
Internet is a must in the modern age, isn't it? And Skyvillion claims to deliver. You get Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! (Hallelujah!), and Internet [LAN] too, which is a bit old school, but hey, maybe you’re into that wired-in life. They've also got Internet services generally, and Wi-Fi in public areas. I'd wager, it's ok. This is London, there’s a solid chance the internet will eventually cut out, but you’re likely to have a strong connection. And the phone is useless in your room.
Relaxation Station – Where Dreams Go To Spoil (Maybe Literally):
Now, the fun bits! They've touted Spa, Sauna, Steamroom, Massage, Pool with view, and a Fitness center. Sounds AMAZING, right? I, however, unfortunately was not able to enjoy most of these. I'll be honest, I was exhausted. So I did not go and get a Body scrub or Body wrap. I barely made it to the Gym/fitness. (It’s compact, but functional).
The Swimming pool is described with a view. I didn't have time to fully appreciate it. I wasn't even sure I wanted to! The Poolside bar I was certain I wouldn't want.
Cleanliness and Safety – Is It Safe to Breathe?:
Okay, this is important, especially in these… interesting times. They've got a Daily disinfection in common areas, Anti-viral cleaning products, Hand sanitizer everywhere, and the staff are trained in safety protocols. They also promise Individually-wrapped food options and Sanitized kitchen and tableware items. The real kicker? They have Room sanitization opt-out available. So if you don't want your room disinfected daily, you have an alternative. Frankly, I'm for it. They also offer Cashless payment service, which I very much appreciated, and a Doctor/nurse on call. I did feel safe, and that's what matters.
Eat, Drink, and Be Merry (or at Least, Fed):
This is where things get…interesting. There are Restaurants. Plural! (One of them looks to serve Asian cuisine). They offer Breakfast [buffet] and Breakfast service. I'm a fan of buffets, but let's be clear: a Buffet in restaurant isn't the same as a Michelin-star experience. Get your expectations in check. There's also a Coffee/tea in restaurant and a Coffee shop. They have a Snack bar, always a winner in my book. Also, they offer Room service [24-hour] – perfect for those late-night cravings or emergency Deliveroo runs. They have a Poolside bar. But I didn't see the pool.
The fact that there's a Vegetarian restaurant is great, although I didn't try it. The Bar is definitely there, though I didn't spend any time in there. Overall, food-wise, it's a pretty diverse spread, and I’m always down for a Bottle of water. My favourite thing was the Happy hour.
Services and Conveniences – The Little Perks:
Skyvillion offers a lot of Services and conveniences: Air conditioning in public area (thank goodness!), and Audio-visual equipment for special events (who knew?!). They have Business facilities, which I didn't use, because I chose to not do anything that resembled work. The Concierge was helpful, and the Daily housekeeping kept things sparkling. Dry cleaning and Ironing service are available. They even have a Convenience store… which, let’s be real, is probably ridiculously overpriced, given its proximity to Westfield. I really like having a Luggage storage.
For the Kids – Keeping the Little Humans Happy:
Family/child friendly, Babysitting service, Kids facilities, and Kids meal. I don't have kids, so I can't give a first-hand account, but it looks like they are prepared.
The Room – My Personal Bubble:
Okay, my room. It was… a room. Air conditioning was a godsend. The Blackout curtains were surprisingly effective, which is crucial for those jet lag days. The bed: Extra long bed and Linens made it comfortable. Daily housekeeping kept everything tidy, and there was a Refrigerator to keep my snacks cold. Coffee/tea maker was a plus, but I'm a sucker for strong coffee. The desk was workable, the Internet access – wireless was solid. The Mirror was great for checking hair. They also had a Seating area, which was good for reading a book. There were Slippers and Bathrobes.
Getting Around and Other Glitches:
Airport transfer is offered, which can be a lifesaver. They have Car park [free of charge], and Car park [on-site], Taxi service. The Check-in/out [express] was efficient.
One minor hiccup: My key card didn't work on the first try. Minor, but frustrating. But hey, it's a hotel - stuff happens.
The Verdict – Westfield is Close But Quality Is Higher:
Skyvillion is a decent stay. It leans towards luxury, maybe not quite "gold standard," but definitely above average. The proximity to Westfield is both a blessing and a curse. You've got shopping and entertainment at your fingertips, but you're also constantly aware of the consumerist hum. The staff are efficient and friendly, and the rooms are well-appointed.
Overall, would I recommend Skyvillion?
If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable, and relatively luxurious stay near Westfield, then YES. Just manage your expectations and understand that the “luxury” might be slightly diluted. This place is not going to blow your mind, but it's a solid, reliable base for exploring London or indulging in some serious retail therapy.

Skyvillion Pilgrimage: To Westfield and Beyond (Probably To a Very Expensive Pub After)
(This is my attempt to tame the chaos. Wish me luck.)
Day 1: Arrival & Utter Disappointment (and the occasional glitter bomb)
8:00 AM: Alarm. Rude awakening. I’d envisioned myself leaping out of bed, a vision of pure Olympic zeal. Instead, I'm wrestling with the duvet, muttering about the injustice of the morning.
8:30 AM: Breakfast. Cereal. The breakfast of champions (of getting through a Tuesday, anyway). My stomach is already grumbling, anticipating the sheer culinary brilliance, I'm sure awaits at the Skyvillion.
9:00 AM: The dreaded journey to Westfield begins. Public transport, the great leveler. Fighting for a seat. Smelling of stale coffee and existential dread. (My dread, mostly.)
10:00 AM: ARRIVE. Westfield. It's… bigger than I remembered. And louder. Oh god, the noise. Shopping. So much shopping. Blended with the excitement the Olympic events are due tomorrow.
- Important Pre-Skyvillion Logistics Check:
- Phone: Charged. (Vital. For Instagramming my inevitable breakdown.)
- Tickets: Checked. Hopefully not fake. (Fingers crossed.)
- Snacks: I grabbed a suspicious-looking bag of crisps in the corner shop. (Desperate times, desperate measures.)
- Sense of Humor: Attempting to maintain.
- Important Pre-Skyvillion Logistics Check:
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: The Great Food Court Debacle. Let's be honest, stadium food is never amazing. I wandered the food court, my stomach rumbling, battling the allure of greasy temptations. I'm fairly certain I saw a deep-fried something-or-other that was actively judging me. I was so hungry I nearly gave in, but I'm holding out for something that resembles actual, decent food when I get to the Skyvillion.
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM : Pre-Event Scoping & General Panic. I wandered around the Olympic Area. Trying to get a sense of the atmosphere. The sheer scale of the thing got to me. I started panicking a tiny bit. I am not a crowd person. I hope I can handle this.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch! After all the running around to get a good food choice, I found myself in a small eatery. I devoured my meal, even though it was not fantastic. I was so hungry at this point that my palate was not the best.
2:00 PM: I decided to search for souvenir shops at the Olympic area. So many things for sale. At one point, I stood awkwardly in front of a mountain of Team GB branded keyrings. I was overcome with a sudden, and rather embarrassing, wave of patriotism. I did NOT buy a keyring. I can't explain why. Maybe I'll go back tomorrow. Maybe not.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Headed back toward public transport, my feet and my soul were in desperate need of a break. The thought of going back and facing the crowds once again was almost unbearable.
4:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Collapsed on the bed. Contemplated ordering room service, but my credit card shrieked in protest.
5:00 PM: Decided to watch some Olympics from previous years to get me further hyped before the big day. Some of them were incredible to watch. Others were heartbreaking.
7:00 PM: Dinner. Pizza. The comfort food of the overwhelmed traveler.
8:00 PM: Bed. Sleep. Pray for a better tomorrow.
Day 2: SKYVILLION! (and the inevitable comedown)
- 8:00 AM: Up again. This time the alarm is less annoying, I'm actually a bit excited. Today's the day! Skyvillion, here I come!
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast. Slightly better than yesterday. I'm aiming for fueling myself, not just surviving.
- 10:00 AM: Back to Westfield, this time with a purpose!
- 11:00 AM: FINALLY. The Skyvillion. The crowds are an ocean of color and anticipation. The energy is electric. It's… overwhelming. But good, overwhelming. I can feel a little bit of my old anxiety resurfacing. But I'm trying to focus on my reason for being here. Olympic Pride!
- 11:30 AM: The Events! (This is where it gets fuzzy, because I'll be consumed by them.)
- The Event 1 and 2: The sheer athleticism – My jaw dropped. The tension in the air was palpable. I was leaping out of my seat, cheering for people I'd never met. Pure, unadulterated joy.
- The Event 3: A moment of intense disappointment, an athlete stumbled. My heart sank. I felt the collective disappointment of the crowd.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch in the arena. Overpriced hot dog. Expected. Worth it, despite the cost. I was buzzing from the events.
- 2:00 PM: Event 4. I was starting to get a bit tired. Also, the sun was streaming in the stadium.
- 3:00 PM: Event 5. More cheering. More jumping. A bit less of the anxiety. I am in my element.
- 4:00 PM: So, I'm not gonna lie, the emotion finally hit me. In the middle of a particularly dramatic event, a wave of pure, unadulterated feeling washed over me. Tears streamed down my face. Embarrassing, but also… beautiful. Seeing the athletes. The culmination of their hard work. I'm a mess. I'm genuinely, giddy with the whole experience.
- 5:00 PM: The inevitable comedown. The music stops. The crowds disperse. The echoes of cheers faded. A sense of peaceful exhaustion.
- 6:00 PM: Stumbled out of the Skyvillion, slightly shell-shocked. The world seemed quieter, almost… normal.
- 7:00 PM: Pub Time! Because after an experience like that, you need to talk it out. The pub. The perfect place to dissect the events, discuss the highs and lows.
- 8:00 PM: Drinks. More drinks. Sharing stories of the day with newfound friends.
- 9:00 PM: Food. More food.
- 10:00 PM: The journey back to the hotel. Walking.
- 11:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Bed. Sleep of champions.
Day 3 - Departure, and A Longing Look Back
- 8:00 AM: Wake up. The feeling of an awesome experience from yesterday.
- 9:00 AM: Take a final walk around the now-quiet Westfield.
- 10:00 AM: Head to the airport.
- 12:00 PM: Fly home.
This, my friends, is how you really experience a trip. A messy, honest, human, and occasionally chaotic pilgrimage. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Cheers, Your tired and probably slightly emotional Skyvillion pilgrim.
